This theatre a was originally built in 1921 by the late Hiroyuki Yamamoto, and rebuilt in 1950 after it was burned down during world war 2. Thanks to the preservation of the Noh drama tradition and its long service to the cultural arts the theatre was designated by the government as a tangible cultural heritage in 2006. This facility aims to preserve and spread the tradition of Noh theatre, an important form of drama originating in UNESCO. The theatre has a traditional wooden stage with empty its placed underneath to crate sound effects during performances, as well as a lovely tea room. Aside from Noh performances, visitors can participate in acting classes with Noh performers and watch other forms go traditional performance hosted by the theatre, A-hour stage tour is also available for 1000 yen per person. Yamamoto not Theatre is appropriately located near Osaka Castle, the base of power of famous former shogun Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who was an acid fan and supporter of Noh drama. Come see for yourself why Noh theatre has been an important part of Japanese culture for more than 700 years.
