Hozenji Yokocho was originally made famous by Osakan novelist Oda Sakunosuke's celebrated novel Meoto Zenzai, publish in 1940. Hozenji Temple, after which the area is named, is a samall but captivation temple dedicated to Amitabha. This temple is famous for its mizukake fudo, a moss-covered to Buddhist statue that visitors throw water on when praying.
